Challenge

Moving a snippet of text, some code or a file from one device to another usually means emailing yourself, logging into a cloud drive or installing an app. The goal for Putroom was a SaaS product that removes all of that: no login, no install, just open a room in the browser and share.

Approach

We designed and built Putroom as a full SaaS web app. Anyone can create a temporary room, get a 4-digit code and paste text, source code, images or files into it. Other devices join with the code and see updates in real time using WebSocket and peer-to-peer WebRTC sync, with Cloudflare R2 storage for larger files. We added a rejoin option for the last room, auto-expiring rooms that clear their data, a multi-language interface and a clean, mobile-friendly UI that works in any modern browser.

Outcome

Putroom is live as a public SaaS product and has launched on Product Hunt. People can share text, code and files between their own devices or with others in seconds, without creating an account.
